The Anchored Heart Devotional
The Anchored Heart Devotional
Sometimes life’s storms can come along and rock our faith.
When unexpected trouble, prolonged trials, or disappointments come, we may wonder where God is––or what He’s doing. We can feel like our faith is sinking.
In those times, what we long for the most is certainty that the Lord is with us, caring for us, and guiding us even when we can't see it. And we want assurance that we will come through the other side better for it.
What we NEED is to know that we are anchored to a steady hope in the storms of life––Jesus Christ.
There are two things that often get in the way of that kind of unmovable faith:
1. We don’t truly know the God in whom we place our faith. What keeps us from steady faith is not weakness––it is a lack of deep knowledge of the character, attributes, and promises of the ONE in whom we trust.
2. We don’t feel equipped to talk to God.
We want to pray with confidence, but in painful seasons, we can struggle to find the “right” words. Sometimes we even hesitate to pray, holding back instead of coming boldly before Him.
But God does not call us to perfect prayer. He welcomes us to draw near to Him in both the silence and the storms.
That’s why I pulled together some of my favorite writing I've ever done on God's character and created The Anchored Heart: A 21-day journey to a settled heart, renewed mind, and deeper trust in God.
This devotional is designed to help meet both of those needs!
To help you know God more deeply through His character, promises, and truth—so your faith has something solid to stand on. And to help you learn to pray again with confidence and clarity, even in the middle of uncertainty.
